Cruise Information
Message from the Interclub Bay Cruise Commodore for 2010
Planning has already begun for this year’s Interclub Bay Cruise. For those not familiar with the Bay Cruise, it is the largest and longest running single event held on Moreton Bay. This event commenced in May 1976 and this year we are celebrating the 35th consecutive cruise. The cruise attracts approximately 100 vessels each year.
The object of the cruise is to bring together like minded families, irrespective of whether their preference is sailing or power for a safe and inexpensive family holiday in beautiful Moreton Bay. This year the cruise will begin at Gold Coast Boat Club (CGBC) on South Stradbroke Island and we will cruise in company to a different venue and location each day.
You don’t even have to be a member of a boating club as this cruise welcomes all individuals. Many parents and children look forward to catching up with old friends and meeting new people each year.
The itinerary allows families to participate in as much or as little activities as they desire. Some of the cruise highlights include; salt air games, sand tobogganing, fishing completion, beach volleyball, kite flying, treasure hunt, sailing challenge and at night there is a talent contest, trivia night, karaoke, casino, bingo and the list goes on. The activities are designed to cater for all age groups with the objective of having a good time.
With the support of our valued sponsors, each night great prizes are given away to lucky boaties. Most of the sponsors have supported the cruise for many years and their contribution goes a long way in offsetting the running costs of the cruise.
If you have ever thought about, or even if you haven’t been on the Interclub Bay Cruise in awhile don’t miss this year’s cruise.
Should you require any further information or assistance about this years cruise, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any committee member.
Warm Wishes
Andrew Petroff
